Spring is finally here, and with the change in season comes a change in your beauty regimen. Spring is a time of rebirth and rejuvenation, out with the old and in with the new. Don’t get trapped in hibernation mode. Instead, allow yourself to try new techniques to make your look even more beautiful. We’ve got five great beauty tips and tricks for you to look your best this spring.
Bright colored eyes and nails
Spring is all about colors: flowers are blossoming, the sun is starting to show its face again and white snow is giving way to green grass. You should reflect this unique seasonal change in your look. Try bright oranges, yellows and blues on your eyes and nails. Neon nails can keep you looking extra tan. Change up your look from time-to-time with less color on the eyes paired with a bright bold lip. This look is sure to get you in the spring spirit.
Protect your skin from the sun
Once the sun comes out, the first thing we all want to do is lie out and get bronze. On a subconscious level, tan and even-toned skin is equated with youthfulness, vitality and fertility. But remember, protecting your skin is key to maintaining beautiful and healthy skin for the rest of your life. Make sure to put on a lot of sunscreen and a hat before you spend hours out in the sun. Otherwise, you could turn an awful shade of red instead of the bronze you were going for. Nobody wants that, so protect yourself!
Although some makeup has an SPF, they are nowhere near as effective at protecting your skin as sunscreen is. So don’t rely on makeup alone. Before putting on your clothes in the morning, think about applying 1 ounce of sunscreen to your body; that’s enough to fill a shot glass. Think of the SPF value as a length of time, not strength. SPF15 is just as strong as SPF30, but you’ll have to reapply the 15 twice as often. Our estheticians recommend using at least SPF30. This will help to protect your skin and keep it looking it’s best all summer long.
Control your frizz
The humidity of spring can cause out-of-control frizz. But don’t worry. We’ve got some tips to help you control your frizz. First, get your hair trimmed. Dead ends can cause even more frizz, so it’s good to have a fresh cut to prepare for humid weather. Next, use hydrating and repairing shampoo, and a deep conditioner. You need to keep your hair moisturized and nourished so that it won’t react to the wet weather. Use Anti-Frizz products daily on damp hair, from the roots to the tips. These keep your hair moisturized, preventing your hair from taking in the moisture from the humid air outside and frizzing up.
Now that winter is starting to loosen its grip, you’ll soon be shedding layers of clothing and showing some more skin. Now is the time to remove all of that unwanted body hair you’ve kept hidden under the layers of clothes. You can achieve this using the same conventional methods you have in the past, like wax and razors. But, you should also consider hair-removal lasers that work on all types of skin. Although hair-removal lasers are an investment initially, they pay off by saving you from buying a lifetime’s worth of razors and wax in the future
